Dr. Clifford H. Peck - Owner of Forest Creek Animal Hospital
Dr. Clifford Peck opened Forest Creek Animal Hospital in October of 2000. A native Austinite, he attended Crockett High School and went to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate and veterinary education. After attaining his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1987, Dr. Peck practiced veterinary medicine in Houston for 12 years before moving back home to Austin. Dr. Peck and his wife Gwen have three children and one beautiful grandson. When he is not spending time with his family, Dr. Peck enjoys fishing, skiing, and playing golf.
Dr. Cole Q. Carter
Dr. Cole Carter joined FCAH in May of 2014. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, he worked as a veterinary technician at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center and the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2010. He has been practicing in the Austin area since 2010. Dr. Carter grew up in the Texas hill country and has two feisty cats - Gracie and Star. In his free time he enjoys anything outdoors, traveling to new places, trying new foods and restaurants, exercising, and following Gator and Aggie athletics.
Dr. Lisa Byer
Dr. Lisa Byer began practicing at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in August 2009. A southern Louisiana native, she attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Dr. Byer obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2005. She was a small animal practitioner for four years in Las Vegas prior to moving to Round Rock in 2009. In her spare time, Dr. Byer enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. Besides her husband Danny and their son, Dr. Byers’s pets are her world. She has two dogs, Barnabas and Leila, and two cats, Mouser and Asia.
Dr. Amber Breclaw
Dr. Amber Breclaw joined the staff at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in June 2008. She grew up in Houston, TX and went to Texas A&M University for her undergraduate and veterinary school. Dr. Breclaw graduated cum laude with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After practicing veterinary medicine for a year in North Austin, she has now made Round Rock her home. Dr. Breclaw enjoys music, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband, Jarrod, have three adorable children: Collin, who was born in July 2009, Claire, born in May 2011, and Evan, born in October 2014. Currently, her pets include a three-legged Chihuahua mix named Bailey and a yellow lab named Bob.
Dr. David Schaffer
Dr. David Shaffer has been with Forest Creek Animal Hospital since June 2005. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. Dr. Shaffer graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1987
and was a classmate, roommate, and friend of Dr. Peck. Dr. Shaffer has also practiced veterinary medicine for twelve years in Corpus Christi and three years in Fort Worth. He recently moved back to Corpus Christi, but he still comes back to work at Forest Creek Animal Hospital a few days every month. Dr. Shaffer enjoys most outdoor activities, including boating and fishing, as well as movies, reading, and talk-sports radio. Dr. Shaffer has two lovely daughters, Hannah and Reilly. He also has four, four-legged children: two Labrador retrievers named Gunner and George, a Yorkshire terrier named Lexy, and a cat named Carlos.
Laura Alvarez - Head Receptionist
Laura came to us in the summer of 2015, from Northeast Ohio with over 20 years of experience in the medical and dental field. She is married with three sons, has an adorable kitty named Diego, as well as a recently rescued lab mix named Duke. Laura is an avid Cleveland sports fan and loves to see the Indians and Cavs play when they are in Texas!
Kellie-Rae Passarelli - Receptionist
Kellie-Rae has been working for Forest Creek Animal Hospital since June of 2007 and became an office manager in 2015. In August of 2017 she moved to Dallas, because FCAH could not lose such a great person and employee, she now works for us remotely. Kellie-Rae loves spending time with her daughter Averie and her husband George.
Olivia Sweeney – Receptionist
Born and raised in Texas, Olivia joined our team in May of 2017. She has a green thumb, enjoys cooking, and spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. Olivia is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
Paige Tovar – Receptionist
Paige joined us in May of 2017 with many years of customer experience. She has a 6-year-old son named TJ and an adorable lab mix named Jessie. She spends her free time with her son and boyfriend, and enjoys working out at Camp Gladiator. Paige loves animals and hopes to one day work as a veterinary technician.
Lauren Mitchell - Lead Veterinary Technician
Lauren has worked for Forest Creek Animal Hospital since July 2014. During that time, she went to school to become an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technician, and graduated from her program in May 2016. Lauren became our Lead Veterinary Technician in August of 2017. She has two cats named Aurora and Cocoa and likes fun socks.
Tiffany joined us in September of 2015. She and her daughter Ava are the proud owners of Lucy the Maltipoo, Rex the cat, and Shimmer the Hedgehog. Tiffany has been working in the veterinary field for over 10
years and went through a Veterinary Technician Program for Veterinary Technology. Tiffany and her daughter Ava like to go see movies and hangout outdoors.
Rachel has been a Veterinary Technician since 2007. She has 3 cats (Tigger, Sylvester & Milo), a miniature dachshund named Sprinkles and a Beagle/Dachshund mix named Gizmo. In addition to working at Forest Creek Animal Hospital and being a mom to her son Logan, Rachel is currently taking classes to become a licensed Vet Tech. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Stars and Dallas Cowboys.
Jennifer was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She started working at a veterinary clinic as a kennel technician when she graduated from high school. Gaining experience, she soon worked her way up to becoming a veterinary technician, which has been her career path for the last 12 years. Jennifer moved to Austin, Texas in 2011 where she met her fiancé Madison. In her free time, Jennifer plays with her kids Braylee, age 4, and Hunter, age 3. She also owns a 7-year-old bullmastiff named Hemi and 15-year-old cat named Sylvester who are truly her fur kids!
Nicole joined the team at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in September 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University as well as her Associates Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. After passing the VTNE and State Board Exam, she will have earned her title as an AVMA Licensed Veterinary Technician. Nicole and her husband are the proud owners of Sadie Girl, an ABCA registered Border collie that they breed and take with them on all their outdoor adventures.
Tom has been with us since July of 2015. He has two dogs, Jon Snow a greyhound mix and Nanabelle a German Shepard Mix. Tom enjoys spending time with his son and Fiancée or going running.
