OUR SERVICESInternal Medicine
Our doctors perform comprehensive physical exams on all patients. We are also able to provide critical care and hospitalization for your pet in times of distress or illness, including thorough diagnostics, IV fluids, injectable antibiotics or medications, and oxygen therapy if needed. We have a complete pharmacy to dispense the medications your pet needs by the end of your appointment.
Vaccinations are important in keeping your pet healthy from several different contagious diseases. Most of our vaccines are licensed for 3 years to avoid overvaccinating, while making sure your dog or cat is adequately protected. We have specific vaccination recommendations tailored to your pet and his or her age and lifestyle.
We are equipped with a separate surgical suite and superior monitoring equipment. All animals undergoing anesthesia receive an IV catheter and fluids and are monitored with a blood pressure machine, pulse oximeter to monitor blood oxygen saturation, and ECG machine. They are also supported with a warm water circulation blanket to maintain body temperature and a ventilator in most cases. We check bloodwork prior to anesthesia on all patients to minimize anesthetic risk by identifying potential underlying problems and use safe and progressive anesthetics such as propofol and isoflurane gas anesthesia. Sterile instruments and sterile technique are used for all surgical procedures.
We have state of the art dental equipment, including a digital dental x-ray machine, for the best dental evaluation and treatment for your pet. Patients undergoing dental procedures receive a complete dental prophylaxis including scaling and polishing the teeth and a thorough dental and oral evaluation by the veterinarian. If serious periodontal disease or fractured teeth are found, extractions or local antibiotic therapy can be performed during the dental to improve your pet's oral health. We use a variety of progressive dental products to assist with periodontal therapy: Consil is a product used to pack sockets after tooth extractions to promote new bone support. Doxirobe is a local antibiotic gel used to fill infected periodontal pockets below the gumline. Oravet is a sealant applied to the teeth after cleaning that helps repel plaque and tartar. An Oravet home kit is available for weekly applications to help keep the teeth clean and white.
Special emphasis is placed on post-operative pain management to keep your pets comfortable after any surgical or dental procedure. All animals undergoing surgery receive an injection for pain control as well as oral pain medications to go home after the procedure. We also have a variety of pain management options for arthritis, injuries, or any other discomfort your pet may be experiencing.
We are equipped with a full in-house laboratory to receive fast and accurate bloodwork results during your appointment. Our general health profile includes blood chemistries to check organ function, complete blood counts, and electrolytes. We also routinely run heartworm tests that screen for tick borne diseases as well as heartworm disease, feline leukemia and FIV tests, and fecal analyses to check for intestinal parasites.
We have complete radiographic capabilities and use x-rays to evaluate the chest, abdomen, and skeletal system and to aid in further diagnosing your pet's illnesses. We also work closely with a board certified veterinary radiologist who comes to our clinic to perform and interpret abdominal ultrasounds.
We are a full service boarding facility who you can trust to take care of your pet while you are away. Dogs are kept in spacious, indoor runs with blankets and towels that are provided to keep them comfortable. We have a large, fenced-in backyard with separate outdoor pens where your dogs are walked and exercised every day. Cats are boarded in a separate, quiet room apart from the dogs to minimize the stress of being away from home. If your pet gets ill while boarding, our veterinarians are always available to exam and treat them if needed. Other features that we offer are a children's play area in the lobby and a comfortable living room-like consultation room for private communication or difficult moments.
We provide professional grooming services Monday through Friday. All grooming includes a bath, nail trim, gland expression, ear cleaning, and a bandana or bows. Consider it a spa day for your pet! Call today for an appointment to get your pet groomed and pampered.
