About Care
From healthy hearts to haircuts, we have your pet needs covered.
Forest Creek Animal Hospital offers boarding and grooming services, as well as early drop-off/late pick-up. We have radiography, surgical facilities, and digital dental radiography on site, to fully serve our patients needs. We also offer Care Credit for unexpected visits and emergencies, which includes a 6 month no-interest period. Forest Creek Animal Hospital uses licensed three-year vaccines for all core vaccines. Core vaccines include Rabies, DAP (Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus) for dogs and HCP (Herpesvirus/Calicivirus/Panleukopenia) for cats. We also offer the canine rattlesnake vaccine. Although vaccinated dogs still react to the rattlesnakes bite, they generally experience less pain, and a reduced risk of permanent injury. We still recommend annual wellness examinations and heartworm/fecal testing to maintain a healthy relationship with your pet.

Patient Education
1. Austin Pet Allergies.
Many pets in the Austin area suffer from allergies. The three most common allergies we see in dogs and cats are flea allergies, inhalant allergies (atopy), and food allergies. Allergies in pets usually manifest themselves as itchy skin and ears. There are several treatment options for allergies including hypoallergenic diets, flea control, antihistamines, medicated shampoos, and supplements such as omega 3 fatty acids. Ask us about customizing a specific treatment regimen for your itchy pet.
2. Senior pet wellness..
Due to advances in medicine and the care pets receive, dogs and cats are living longer, happier lives. There are several things to help the geriatric pet age more gracefully. Annual examinations and lab work help us detect various diseases more commonly seen in aging pets and allow for early and more proactive treatment. Since older dogs and cats are more likely to suffer from arthritis, dietary supplements like glucosamine and omega 3 fatty acids are helpful. Obesity contributes to several different diseases and arthritis, so maintaining an ideal body weight is also important to keep your pet healthy and living longer.
